Our MTN Trainer 2 Leather is designed in Montebelluna, the small town at the foothills of the Dolomites that is the birthplace of mountain shoemaking craftsmanship. It’s a robust and versatile low-cut alpine approach shoe with a suede upper and a Vibram outsole made for heavy use. Its hard-wearing upper has a full protective rubber rand for 360° abrasion resistance in rocky terrain and a high-quality, supple and breathable full-grain leather lining that absorbs moisture well. Leather moulds to the shape of your foot and is very comfortable to wear – especially in warm weather, although it takes slightly longer to dry. The improved lasted construction ensures a comfortable and more flexible fit, while the expanded PU midsole provides long-lasting shock absorbency and rebound. The multifunctional Vibram Mtn Trainer Evo outsole promotes stability and agility and its deep, self-cleaning grooves and aggressive lugs guarantee good grip on rock and scree and optimal traction on mud and grass. A special via ferrata zone under the midfoot, before the heel, has special right-angled lugs for better grip on ladder rungs. Our signature 3F system connects the instep area with the sole and heel for flexibility, correct fit and support. The climbing lacing system can be fine-tuned at the toe for greater climbing precision and there is a protective stretch gaiter under the laces to keep rain and groundwater out. And the cushioning OrthoLite footbed wicks away moisture and works with the leather lining in helping to keep your feet cool. The MTN Trainer 2L is a comfortable alpine approach solution for technical hikes, via ferratas and treks – especially in warm weather.
